The two-day National Business Work Conference closed in Beijing on Decemebr 29, 2014. Entrusted by Commerce Minister Gao Hucheng, China International Trade Representative and Vice Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan made a concluding speech, and Vice Minister Gao Yan presided over the conference.
Zhong said that the conference was of great significance under the background that China’s economic development stepped into a new normal and a new round of reform and opening up was comprehensively launched. During the conference, Gao made a comprehensive and systematic work report, which conveyed the spirit of the meeting of the central government and the important instructions and requirements of the leaders of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and made clear the development goals and tasks of business development in the future.
Zhong said that, centered on the work report of Minister Gao, the participants had discussions on implementing the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference. They thought that the business work in 2014 gained brilliant achievements with many highlights and great influence, achieving high appraise of the Party Central Committee and the State Council. The work report by Gao deeply discussed the tendency and changes of business development under the new normal, which is of great guiding significance for local commercial departments to deeply understand the spirit of the central government. The report put forward eight action plans and eight projects, which are of rich contents, clear goals and high operability, providing new platforms and measures for local business work. This is not only of positive effect for the business work of 2015, but also plays a great leading role for the business development in the future years.
Zhong said that the conference was timely with rich achievements, and made the tentative exploration on how to start the business work under the new normal, representing the work style of seeking truth from facts and seeking actual effects.
Zhong stressed that the transmission and implementation of the spirit of this Business Work Conference was of great importance, and we should implement the work deployment of Minister Gao and accomplish the tasks of 2015, combining General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the Central Economic Work Conference on the new normal of economic development and economic diplomacy. Firstly, the spirit of the conference should be reported timely to the commercial leaders of the provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, as well as local commercial departments, in order to reach consensus and consolidate confidence. Secondly, the work tasks should be implemented well. Related departments of the Ministry of Commerce should formulate work plans as soon as possible, and detailing policies and measures. Local commercial departments should also strengthen publicity and optimize supporting policies according to local features and advantages. With plans, inspections and evaluations, we should make great efforts in 16 major special projects in five aspects, forging new highlights of business work in the future years. Thirdly, the work thinking and methods should be innovated. We should break the traditional thinking mode and innovate development and thinking, and explore the management mode that accommodates to the business development needs in the new era.
Zhong stressed that with the upcoming New Year’s Day and the Spring Festival, all commercial departments should pay high attention and do a good job in market supply and consumption safety at the end of the year, and guarantee the production and operation of foreign trade and foreign-invested enterprises. At the same time, we should sincerely implement the eight stipulations of the Party Central Committee, and firmly object formalism, bureaucracy, hedonism and extravagance, fully fulfilling our responsibilities.
Representatives of local commercial departments from Beijing, Hubei, Yunnan, Shandong, Ningxia and Ningbo exchanged views at the conference.
